Day 1

Right this moment I had leftovers. I lacked my common enthusiasm as I ate the salmon and rice. It was a dry meal, however I typically love dry meals. My ideas had been too occupied with Gladys; I simply couldn’t discover the pleasure and pleasure I normally have whereas consuming.

Gladys, my life companion of 19 years, has fallen deathly ailing. She is within the hospital. And right here I’m, trapped in our dwelling, barred from visiting, prevented from offering consolation in her closing hours. So, I ate my meals alone. Once I reached the ultimate chew, I hesitated. I needed to depart it; I needed to protect only a few morsels of the ultimate meal Gladys would ever put together for me, however I lacked the energy. I ate all of the leftovers.
